Year 6 Classroom Kitchen

In Classroom Kitchen, we made beanburgers.  First we peeled the sweet potatoes which was quite tricky – we had to pay particular attention to ensuring we peeled away from ourselves.  We then diced this and boiled until it was soft enough to mash.  During this time, we peeled and chopped spring onion using our claw method.  Then we mashed all of the ingredients together and added seasoning (salt, pepper, paprika and fresh corriander).  Fun fact – raw kidney beans are stronger than you think!  Once the mixture was ready, we formed our individual patties and cooked them in oven.  The children took home their burgers in a  bun and hopefully enjoyed them, most probably with ketchup!
