Views of the Academy
72 Parent Questionnaires were completed during parent events during February and March and the results have been uploaded onto Parent View. Full analysis can also be found in the document below.
We appreciate the time you took to complete the questionnaire and your feedback will be used to improve our practice and provision.
Two areas for action are outlined below:
My child receives appropriate homework for their age
9% of parents disagree that their child receives appropriate homework and 7% said they ‘didn’t know’. All pupils in KS1 and KS2 have access to Bug Club (Reading) and Times Tables Rockstars (Maths). In addition, pupils in Years 2 and 6 receive additional homework in preparation for SATs. However, as a result of the feedback, we will be carrying out a survey to identify what kinds of homework you would prefer and how often you would like homework to be given.
The school deals effectively with bullying
7% of parents disagree that we deal effectively with bullying and 14% said they ‘didn’t know’. Bullying of any form is not and will not be tolerated at Simpson’s Lane. Any incidents of bullying behaviour are taken very seriously and are dealt with immediately in line with academy policy. We have been working with the Anti-Bullying Alliance to strengthen our practice and all parents received a Child/Carer guide to Anti-Bullying in the Autumn Term. We will continue to ensure that our curriculum is underpinned by PSHE, with a focus on building positive relationships to prevent bullying incidents, however if you have any concerns - as always - please come in and speak with a member of staff. Mrs Silburn, Mrs Olbison and Miss Mayers are available on the playground in the morning and after school whenever possible.
